Our Chief Executive

In July 2026, Gus Gilmore stepped into the role of acting Chief Executive for School Property.

Gus has extensive experience leading organisational transformation across education, the public sector, and complex commercial environments. He has a focus on delivering results and building strong, trusted relationships across government, industry, and communities.

He has been the Chief Executive of Te Pūkenga – New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology, and of Manukau Institute of Technology and Unitec. He has also held senior roles with the Tertiary Education Commission and Air New Zealand.

Gus brings a strong operational and commercial lens to School Property. He’s focused on building a high-performing organisation that supports teaching and learning outcomes across the country.
